nox-genius-18k-alum-2027-by-agustin-tapia
Nox Genius 18K Alum 2027 by Agustín Tapia

Agustín Tapia's 2027 flagship, in the standard balance. Teardrop head, 360–375 g, 38 mm — the frame closest to what he actually plays with.

The face is 18K Alum carbon. Aluminised, so it holds its stiffness through a cold morning or a hot afternoon, and it gives a solid, precise ball rather than a trampoline. Under it sits an MLD Black EVA multi-density core: soft enough to hold the ball in defence, firm enough to flatten one out when the lob comes up short.

Two things are genuinely new for 2027. The VCS anti-vibration system bonds a high-performance elastomer across the whole inner surface of the frame and cuts the vibration reaching your arm by around 60% against the 2026 Genius. The EOS Tunnel reshapes the throat for cleaner airflow, which you feel as a slightly quicker head through the swing. The Weight Balance system takes 2 g and 4 g counterweights up to 8 g, so you can move the balance yourself rather than buying a different frame.

Surface is Dual Spin — 3D relief over a sand coat — and the handle carries Nox's Oversize Grip, 30 mm longer than standard for two-handed backhands.

Specifications

Level

Professional

Shape

Teardrop

Weight

360–375 g

Thickness

38 mm

Frame

Carbon

Face

18K Alum carbon

Core

MLD Black EVA

Surface

Dual Spin

Touch

Medium-hard

Playing style

All-round

Technologies

VCS, EOS Tunnel, Dual Spin, Weight Balance, Pulse System, Smart Strap, Dynamic Composite Structure, Custom Grip, Oversize Grip

Nox reference

PAGENIUS1827

Specifications as published by NOX.

Buy this if you are an advanced player who wants the real Genius mould and will use all of it.
